This week, my mindfulness training homework is all about embodied emotion. It’s about stripping away the stories we superimpose on our emotions in order to let them “breathe” and resolve. To get there, however, we have to make a leap. We have to cozy up to the emotion and risk experiencing it in our bodies. But … why on Earth would we choose to do that when our brain clearly directs us to fight, fly or freeze?
